Try Canfield Solitaire at your own pace and keep its objective in view. Complete four suited foundations beginning at the dealt base rank and wrapping king to ace. Thirteen reserve cards, four columns, draw-three recyclable stock. Free solo play, no wagering.

One thing to notice as you play

Watch the feedback after an action. A message can explain whether the input was accepted or whether a rule needs attention. Notice the feedback after each input.

The objective of a round

Complete four suited foundations beginning at the dealt base rank and wrapping king to ace. An attractive position is not enough unless the goal is met. Try to explain the aim in your own words.

The order of play

  1. Build tableau runs down in alternating colours, wrapping ace to king. Reserve cards refill empty columns automatically.
  2. Select a face-up card and then the destination pile or Empty slot.
  3. Use foundations where available; full Spider or Scorpion runs clear automatically.
  4. Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.

Using the playing area

Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown. Use the control method described here for this activity. Make sure you are interacting with the game rather than the surrounding page.

Follow the example

With base rank 5, a foundation runs 5 through king, then ace through 4. Apply the same reasoning to the position in your own round. Keep the game’s format in mind.

A mistake to avoid

Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. A different version of the game may use a different rule. Keep the stated aim separate from side details such as animation or appearance. Progress is measured by the game’s own completion or scoring rules.
